How can I gather information about the freelancer who was hired for a job I applied for but didn't get selected?

You can view it in the client's ongoing project history, provided the client has not closed the job.

In short: you cannot.

Long way: collect all info aboun current active jobs, wait an month, compare. Maybe feedback will be added or active job added.

Nope, it seems like Upwork stopped posting updates on clients' profiles starting last July-September, 2023, including feedback and recent hires.

Why this new lack of transparency, Upwork?
