Job closed automatically as soon money deposited to escrow

I have just joined upwork to hire someone for a project. The start has not been great. The job I posted and was hirring a freelancer, added funds to escrow, the job was closed automatically and the funds a stuck. There is no live support which for a company this size is embarrising. I would like to get my funds back ? I have since posted the job again but it is asking me to fund it again.. what happend to the funds I added?
