Scam Alert: Biggest Scam by Enterprise Client **Edited** with Our Agency on Upwork

Scam Alert: Biggest Scam by Enterprise Client **Edited for Community Guidelines** with Our Agency on Upwork for Contract 35682237

Here is a brief summary of the scam:

In November 2023, our agency was offered a contract 35682237 by a fraudulent enterprise client **Edited for Community Guidelines** on Upwork.

Between November and December 2023, "Dorothea Francisco" from Upwork, along with the fraudulent enterprise client  **Edited for Community Guidelines** communicated and provided work details to our agency on Upwork.

Based on the work details provided by **Edited for Community Guidelines** on Upwork, all tasks were to be performed solely on the fraudulent platform **Edited for Community Guidelines** according to their requirements. Consequently, from December 2023 to March 2024, our agency completed tasks on the fraudulent platform **Edited for Community Guidelines**. We requested payment release on Upwork to **Edited for Community Guidelines** and several other Upwork team members, but they repeatedly delayed, claiming they would release payment in the next couple of days after obtaining information from the fraudulent enterprise client **Edited for Community Guidelines**

On March 25, 2024, our agency's account on the fraudulent platform **Edited for Community Guidelines**was blocked/deleted by the fraudulent enterprise client **Edited for Community Guidelines**, along with all records, including completed tasks.

On March 27, 2024, **Edited for Community Guidelines** from Upwork, in collaboration with the fraudulent enterprise client **Edited for Community Guidelines**, terminated the contract on Upwork without paying our agency the pending amount of USD $10,020.00. On the same day, our agency filed a dispute for this terminated contract on Upwork for the pending payment through Upwork support.

From March 27, 2024, until the present date, our agency has been in communication with Upwork disputes and mediation team member **Edited for Community Guidelines**via Upwork support. However, the issue remains unresolved, and our agency's payment amount of USD $10,020.00 is pending from the fraudulent enterprise client **Edited for Community Guidelines**and Upwork.

From April 3, 2024, to April 9, 2024, the fraudster **Edited for Community Guidelines** from the fraudulent enterprise client **Edited for Community Guidelines**joined the discussion and communicated with our agency via Upwork. Nevertheless, the issue remains unresolved, and our agency's payment amount of USD $10,020.00 is pending from the fraudulent enterprise client  **Edited for Community Guidelines** and Upwork.

Following the guidelines provided by Upwork team members, from March 2024 until the present date, our agency's legal representative and other team member have sent numerous emails to the fraudster **Edited for Community Guidelines** CEO of the fraudulent enterprise client **Edited for Community Guidelines** and the fraudulent enterprise companies **Edited for Community Guidelines**. Despite our efforts, the issue remains unresolved, and our agency's payment amount of USD $10,020.00 is pending from the fraudulent enterprise client **Edited for Community Guidelines** and Upwork.

We seek assistance from anyone on the Upwork team who can help our agency recover the pending payment amount of USD $10,020.00 from the fraudulent enterprise client **Edited for Community Guidelines** and Upwork.

From my point of view, it would be of interest whether the contract was a fixed-priced one with milestones or an hourly contract (I assume that contract types for enterprise clients are the same as for non-enterprise customers).

If it is a T&M type (a.k.a. hourly contract), it depends on the payment schedule. But in my understanding, if the payment schedule isn't fulfilled by the client, why continue to deliver work? It doesn't seem to be a good idea to deliver work for four months without any payment.

As always, not only one contracting party is solely responsible for any disputes. And to be honest: Blaming ALL enterprise clients AND UpWork as a whole doesn't seem to be appropriate to me.
