Issue with Location-Based Job Application Criteria

My profile has a Houston,TX address (Central Time Zone). I tried applying for a position "Only freelancers located in the U.S. may apply" while here in Houston, TX. When I hit the "Apply Now" button, it says "You do not meet all the client's preferred qualifications

You may still submit a proposal, but the client will see that the proposal does not meet the following criteria:

Location: United States, UTC-05:00"

This is perplexing as my current location in Houston, Texas, indeed qualifies as being within the United States and should align with the job's location requirements. It's disappointing to face such hurdles, especially when I clearly meet the specified criteria. Could you please clarify this issue and assist in rectifying the situation? Thanks!

Hi Roomi,

It appears that this is referring specifically to the client's timezone, which is UTC-05:00. Houston's current timezone is UTC-06:00. You can still apply to the job normally, as the message you're seeing is just specifying the client's timezone preferences.
