Refund on Project

I have a big project. The deadline was made clear to the Freelancer from the start (tight but workable).

It now seems like they are going to miss that deadline.

There is 50% in escrow for completion. The other 50% was for the mid point (which was like 40 days ago).

Is there any way to get the full refund, other than hope the freelancer will pay?

I'm pretty sure I can get the escrow, but wondering if the other 50% will only be a sunk cost.

Hi Kevin,

I'm sorry to learn about your experience with the freelancer. Considering that 50% of the cost you're referring to was already released to the freelancer, you can only request a refund for that amount directly from them if the payment was released within the last 180 days.

Dispute assistance may also be available if the freelancer declines the refund request and the payment was released within the last 30 days. You can check out this article for more information on how refunds work.
