Hi Nahid,

Since the contract is still in progress and no money has been released yet, you won't be able to request a refund using that function. You will need to choose "End contract" from that same menu. This will take you to another screen where you can leave feedback and request an escrow refund

Any help?

Hi Nahid,

I am sorry to hear that your job did not go as expected. If you have funds in escrow, you can initiate a refund request on the job. Here's the help page for more information on how to request an escrow refund. Feel free to message us if you need further assistance.

The full amount is now in escrow. I attached the screenshot. Can you please confirm me this is the option for escrow refund? Do I need to write the project budget on the "Other amount"?

Hello Nahid sorry for that, try to follow the following steps

  1. Communicate with the Freelancer

    • Firstly, communicate with the freelancer about your concerns and request a refund if you wish to not continue with the project.
    • If the freelancer agrees to a refund, the funds in escrow can be refunded to you.
  2. Request a Refund Through Upwork

    • If you've already released payments promptly after each milestone and there's no money left in escrow, you can still request a refund through Upwork.
    • Reach out to Upwork for assistance, detailing your reasons for wanting a refund.
  3. Resolve Disputes

    • If the freelancer disputes the refund request, Upwork will notify you by email, and you'll have the option to accept or reject their response.
    • If you reject the response, a dispute will be submitted, and an Upwork mediation specialist will provide mediation assistance to both parties to try and resolve the dispute.

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear about the challenge you're facing with your freelancer. To request a refund, you can follow these steps:
1. Go to the "My Jobs" tab on your Upwork dashboard.
2. Find the contract associated with the freelancer and click on it.
3. In the contract details, you should see an option to "End Contract" or "Request Refund."
4. Follow the prompts to initiate the refund process.

However! I'm a virtual assistant, data entry expert and a customer service representative, I can work for you if there is any opening, I'm always available. Your swift response would be appreciated thanks.
